job hunt update.

 

remember this post?  and this? i wish i could tell you that ‘i nailed it, i got the job’. but i didn’t. didn’t think it would get to me but it was kind of discouraging. well since then i’ve been job hunting. just like everything in life, it’s all in the mind. i’m the type of person who will work hard and focus to reach my goal. so with the help of eminem’s lose yourself on repeat and lots of prayer. i was able to land not just one! but two! job offers! both with good companies. i mean i have to say, with the unemployment rising up, i’m so lucky! i made the hardest decision on picking which one is best for me and my fam. it took two weeks for me to decide! 

so that explains why i’ve been m.i.a. from blogging.  two weeks ago was all about applications, interviews, mom visiting from nyc, finalizing paperwork for closing on our house and enrolling sophie in school. well i spent the past few days cleaning my inbox, unsubscribing to all junk mails from job sites (yeah baby!), relaxing, reading my brother’s book, playing with sophie in her playroom and lying down on the center of the floor, watching disney channel (i know) and ancient aliens.

this coming 2 week is all about packing and moving to our new home!!!!!!, change of address stuff (grrrr!), painting, cleaning and dig up my nice clothes because starting october 10, i’m a working momma! booyah!

mama's in town. goodies from lola and aunts in ny. awkward and awesome umbrella hat. visiting our future (finger's crossed) home. hallandale beach (going to the beach never gets old). bayside outdoor mall. dinner a bubba gump (mama loves applebee's). enjoying live concert at the marina. driving around miami beach.

disney trip: day 3 + 4.

animal kingdom. lunch at yak n' yeti. sophie's cheetah face. safari ride. water slide at the pool. arcade at the hotel and won lots of prizes. gift shops. bacon cheese burger disney style for dinner. watching fireworks from our room. sophie's 100 stars. waking up late. home bound.

- this actually one part of three: sophie screaming in magic kingdom "i want to go home!!!!!!" at 9:15 am. meaning the park just opened. poor baby girl got so scared of the snow white ride. of course that had to be our first ride. what's new. see that's why it's called "snow white scary ride"
- two: convincing sophie that the next ride is not scary and bribing her with balloons and toys just for her to go on the rides. man the kids were all jealous.
- three: everytime sophie got scared she kept saying "dreams come true!" because that's what mickey mouse said to get the evil witch to go away. great.
- we had to check max in into a kennel also for 5 days! he gets so nervous, he started making a mess in the pet place lobby and i'm talking about #1s and #2s. 
- my awesome hubs for letting me drive home because that never ever happens. and now i remember why. 1. i get so paranoid like taking the road test all over again and 2. he gets car sick. ew.

- our 2011 disney trip! it really is magical! the fireworks and the whole show at the end makes me teary eyed. so awesome, i'm glad we stayed till the very end.
- my mama's arriving in 2 days!!
- our the house is going to get inspected already and i can't wait to see it again.

- long driving with my babies because we get to sing all out in the car. and kill adele's album because she's so damn good!

disney trip: day 2.

disney's contemporary resort. awesome view from our hotel room. snow white ride. dumbo and magic carpet ride. spinning teacup ride. sophie driving a race car. lunch at the liberty tree tavern. ice cream sticks, popcorn, cotton candy and lollies. celebration parade. the most awesome firework display. a whole pizza + buffalo wings midnight snack.

disney trip: day 1.

 

my florida license. 4 hour road trip. grande lakes jw marriot. best lazy river ever. margaritas and milk shakes by the pool. downtown disney. planet hollywood. pleasure island. outdoor concert.wolfgang puck resto. lego store. carousel. thai thani resto.

- waiting restlessly at the dmv to surrender my ny license (insert panic attack here) first my phone number, now my license. officially a floridian. whatttt! at least i can enjoy florida resident discount!
- not realizing that you can still leave messages on unactivated voicemail
- guy at dmv speaking to me in spanish. i kept answering him even though i didn't know what he asked. i think he was asking me if i was next on the cashier line. answer # 1: yes this is the line for cashier. answer # 2: no i'm not on line, i'm waiting. answer # 3: you can go ahead, i'm waiting. whatevs.

- guess who's going to disney tomorrow. 4 days and 3 nights of awesomeness!

- my notebooks came. that's right i ordered lots of extras
- eating food from our survival bag: corned beef with egg. so. good. lol.

picky much.

last year i've been writing so tiny on my note book. like seriously 2 lines in one. just because i love that brand of notebook and it was the last one i had. i could only get it from one place in ny - samflax on 57th and park ave. and they might have closed that location. love the texture of the paper. whatevs.

anyway for new year hubs gave me a new notebook he got from b&n. the brand is greenroom, only problem is - it's spiral!!!!! i hate spiral notebooks! anyway he's so thoughtful - he got it for me because it's lime green, has a wood grain pattern and it's 70% recycled. for some reason he keep getting me lime green stuff. don't know why. i didn't want to break his heart so i used it. good thing it had the texture that i like and only had 50 pages.

well as of aug 11, that notebook's done. i purchased a few kinds from office depot and tried using it but it's just not the same. and believe or not they don't have b&n here. so i'm still on the hunt for the perfect notebook! seriously i'm so picky when it comes to my notebook:
- has to be narrow ruled
- not spiral bound!!!
- and the most important - it has to fit in my case. like it has to be no less than 5 x 7 and no more than 6.5 x 8.25 or it's gonna look weird.
- paper must be smooth so that when i use my fine point pen i don't hear the scratchy sound
- no perforation marks
- staple bound and not clothbound

since most of stuff are still boxed up, i can't get to my old notebooks even to just check the brand! so i pretty much spent my saturday trying to find a notebook online. i had to text my old boss and find out if he remembers it. so anyway i found it! it's called crairefontaine!!!!! it's the best notebook. ever. this one to be exact.

- sister saying on my legs from yesterday's pix are nasty because it's too dark than the rest of my body. it's the lighting i promise. check post from the day before.
- a&a thursday post from last week - it's actually friday. i seriously thought it was thursday.
- my netflix addiction just got worse, i've been introduced to korean drama. thanks, chetz - who got me into it. i'm all about cheesy, high school love stories. yep that's right i said high school. early midlife crisis, ya think? not to mention me calling sophie oha-ni-ah (one of my korean characters) and my random smiles while watching. and staying up until 5am. j thinks i'm overdoing it. just a little. p.s. sorry to my words with friends playmates for ignoring you.
