cuban sandwich + rainbow.

we drove my sister around south beach last night for some last minute sight seeing - because the weather decided to be itself. unpredictable. it was going to rain so we decided to stay home but it didn't. of course as soon as we got in the car it started raining. just for a little while though and then a double full rainbow came out! yes i know. as in two full rainbows next to each other. i was so excited like a crazy person in the car trying to capture it on my camera. the pictures don't do any justice at all, the second rainbow is lighter. anyway we showed my sister the art deco district, ocean drive, lummus park and lincoln road. we ended our night with the best cuban sandwich from las vegas cuban cuisine.

sister in town.

yey! my sis arrived today from ny. we missed her sooooo much. first stop - the outlet! sissy wanted some rash guard for our beach trip on monday! we also scored some awesome raybans at sunglass hut - buy one get one half off baby! for $70 each! we have a full 4 days ahead of us! yeepee!

yup this outfit is definitely rated pg. as in playground. this diy vest is starting to be one of my summer favorites. love the 80s feel especially with wayfarers. so obviously this is my shoe number 1. so that leaves me 3 more picks fo the 30 for 30.

so these are my 30 for 30 picks. (finally!) i didn’t include tanks and flipflops.  all I have to say is i need to go shopping like asap. for some reason i thought summer wear would be so much easier. i’m starting to doubt that. i don’t know about you but layering in hot weather is hard for me plus i also included some pieces that i don’t particularly like to make me actually wear them more.  the summer 30 for 30 is really going test my remixing skills but no worries i have a plan! if you notice, there's only 26 pieces so that means i've 4 left for shoes (still in storage).

remedy for 2 bad days in a row.

yup that's right 2 days in a row.
yesterday i headed over to dmv to surrender my new york license :( and be a floridian. just the thought of losing my ny id was bad enough already. anyway i drove to the dmv, had no idea where i was - don't you hate that? driving without knowing where to go stresses me out. so there i was alone with the radio and ac off, heart's pounding and trusting my whole life to the gps on a highway that's headed to naples! like naples, florida! dramatic much? anyway i got there and i waited in line only to be told that i can't change my license because my ssn is still under my maiden name. boooo. i guess i never got around to changing  the last name on my ssn. booo. so they wouldn't the system won't let them make any changes. so that's that.
today, i went to the ss office. i'll save you all the drama - i waited for 1.5 hours. by the time i was home, i couldn't talk anymore just grunt. and then i did bills, lunch, writing time with sophie, clean up and the most important of all: sophie's nap time.
i finally got a chance to sit down and read my blogroll. i realized that i'm late with my 30 for 30 and it's ebew! so i was determined to dress up for ebew. ahahaha. it's so funny now that think about it. 
the way our place is set up - you have to pass the living room to get to the master bedroom. my dad and father in law were watching tv in the living room. i wasn't about to have a "photoshoot" in front of them so i had to get all my stuff to the bedroom, one at a time. my tripod, camera, shoes from storage, my remote thingie from storage. after taking photos, i come out with everything. they probably think i'm nuts. if only they knew what i was doing. - a grown adult making funny faces in heels alone. i definitely know i'm grown - adult? i'm not too sure. hey this made my day! weeee!
anyway about my outfit, i was planning on wearing this last friday for my date with hubby. minus the heels. but ended up wearing the maxi since we wanted to go to the beach. so technically i didn't wear this outfit but i can't wait to actually be out and about in this ensemble. 

sobe it.

get so be it? like sobe as in south beach! i know me and my lame jokes that no one gets. we loved licoln road so much that we decided to take sophie and my in laws. unfortunately it's much better to got there late in the afternoon because it gets really hot in the noon. like seriously who goes there when the sun is at its brightest and hottest? and seriously who goes there with a camera with low bat? um ehem me of course. i did manage to get some shots and a hydrant shot! and i mean one shot at a time and then my camera dies.

date night.

so my in laws are in town which means date night for us! and boy do we need it! last friday, we decided to have a little "tourist-y" and cliche date so we went to lincoln road in soBe (south beach) for dinner and a walk on the beach! yeah baby! hahah! we felt like teenagers on a first date. we ended our night out with a big ghirardelli sunday. yummmm. that night was perfect.
during the day, i did a little refashion while waiting for hubby. i've been hanging on to an old denim jacket from the gap since 2003. i only wear it once in a while and always with a hoodie underneath or a vest on top but never as is because it's a size too big on me. since i'm in miami now, i'll never be able to wear it. i'm so happy with the result. i was so excited to show it to jay. and his comment of course was "where's your harley?" ahahah.

zoo + beach (finally).

i know you're probably thinking - really? zoo again? well what can i tell you our daughter loves animals!!! according to her she wants to be an "animal doctor". this time we went to jungle island. did i mention that 3 is the perfect age for zoos and amusement parks?!? aside from the fact that they can actually walk now don't get tired of walking for hours, they actually know what they're looking at! they can also do things like petting goats,

and feeding them,

and stare at a cow/goat, (yeah this one is freaky, it's a crossbreed between cow and goat) i was staring too.

jungle island is actually known as the "home of the ligers and tigons". yep that crossbreed between tigers and lions. i think hybrid animals are very weird. so we pretended they're tigers.

a random rabbit (check out my sophie's first scrapbook page) and lots of animals. duh? it's a zoo. and this is what i wore which i thought was the perfect outfit!

then after we drove to key biscayne to check out the beach. i wasn't really planning to get wet. yeah sometimes i'm lame like that. and yep i didn't get my hair wet.

but omg, i had to the water's p-e-r-f-e-c-t. so as per my last post, i'm convinced that that's were everyone spend their weekends.
