- having a conversation about moving from new york with a salesman and because of my accent he asked me if i'm from the island obviously i said "no, i'm from queens". only he meant a totaly different island like the philippines! duh?!? whatevs.
- pms-ing is so darn uncomfortable
- jumping and dancing like a crazy person while taking max out yesterday morning - i hate mosquitoes!!! that and i forgot to spray mosquito repellent
- while car shopping, sophie got so tired so we decided to just chillax in the backseat of some random display car, some random guy sat in the driver seat and started talking to himself about how awesome the car was. well, hello there.
- freaking out when hubby attempted to right on my notebook - yeah i'm ocd when it comes to that. it kind of backfired later on when sophie scribbled all over it. and i mean on my notes too. nope i'm still not over it. aaaargh!

- mama's trip to visit us the weekend after that - booked! i miss her! you know what that means lumpiang toge (beansprout eggroll) and turon baby!

preppy look.

yey! 20 of 30! i can't believe i've included 3 pairs of pants in my 30 picks! and no denim shorts! anyway i'm just happy that i'm posting outfit pix again! as you can see, we've tanned so much in the last 2 weeks. i also need a haircut like asap. the truth is i'm so freaking scared to get a haircut. i've only gone to one hair stylist in the past 11 years! her name is junko and she's the b-e-s-t but unfortunately she's back in manhattan. hmmm what to do!?

summer uniform.

so this whole summer i've been living off denim cutoffs. i've cut 5 jeans in the last 2 months including one from my hubby. surprisingly j's jeans are tight high waisted on me. anyway, i am loving the look of a dressy sheer top paired with rugged cutoffs. i also love the fact that i got both of my tops for $7 each at ny&co. woohoo!

at the gelato caffe made famous by the jersey shore. obligatory fist pump were made. and the tiramisu gelato is to die for!

easy d.i.y. maxi dress.

i tried this dress on at forever21 and couldn't get my self to pay $27 for it just because it just looked like a very easy d.i.y. project. although i loved it on me, the fabric was nothing special. so anyway, while i was at the marshall's home section, i found this shower curtain for $3!!! i loved the monochromatic purples and the lines! i knew it was perfect for a maxi dress! i used this tutorial i found on ebew with a little modification: i added elastic in the waist area. so proud of my new dress! a maxi for $3 bucks! you can't beat that!!

white pants.

i actually bought this top 3 years ago when i was preggy and i've been hanging on to it ever since because i am in love with this mint color. i always plan to wear it and i always fail to do so. i have it in my head that loose clothing makes me look shapeless and 50 lbs.  heavier but then again i wore this so much when i was 50 lbs. heavier. i'm glad i included this top and my white pants in my 30 picks because i am loving this outfit!

# 5 of 30.

remember when i said i intentionally picked clothes i don't particularly for my 30 for 30? well this dress is one of them. looking at the photos, it's not that bad. another reason why i love the 30 for 30 challenge. now i actually a bunch of ideas how to style this dress. or maybe not. i guess will see. i love this belt! bought it yeeeeears ago to go with the shoes. i used to wear them almost every weekend and totally forgot all about them. i've boxes and boxes of shoes and accessories in storage and i've only managed to find only one. one thing i learned from moving is that no matter how detailed the labels are on the boxes, you'll never find anything.

3 birds with 1 stone.

remedy for 2 bad days in a row.

yup that's right 2 days in a row.
yesterday i headed over to dmv to surrender my new york license :( and be a floridian. just the thought of losing my ny id was bad enough already. anyway i drove to the dmv, had no idea where i was - don't you hate that? driving without knowing where to go stresses me out. so there i was alone with the radio and ac off, heart's pounding and trusting my whole life to the gps on a highway that's headed to naples! like naples, florida! dramatic much? anyway i got there and i waited in line only to be told that i can't change my license because my ssn is still under my maiden name. boooo. i guess i never got around to changing  the last name on my ssn. booo. so they wouldn't the system won't let them make any changes. so that's that.
today, i went to the ss office. i'll save you all the drama - i waited for 1.5 hours. by the time i was home, i couldn't talk anymore just grunt. and then i did bills, lunch, writing time with sophie, clean up and the most important of all: sophie's nap time.
i finally got a chance to sit down and read my blogroll. i realized that i'm late with my 30 for 30 and it's ebew! so i was determined to dress up for ebew. ahahaha. it's so funny now that think about it. 
the way our place is set up - you have to pass the living room to get to the master bedroom. my dad and father in law were watching tv in the living room. i wasn't about to have a "photoshoot" in front of them so i had to get all my stuff to the bedroom, one at a time. my tripod, camera, shoes from storage, my remote thingie from storage. after taking photos, i come out with everything. they probably think i'm nuts. if only they knew what i was doing. - a grown adult making funny faces in heels alone. i definitely know i'm grown - adult? i'm not too sure. hey this made my day! weeee!
anyway about my outfit, i was planning on wearing this last friday for my date with hubby. minus the heels. but ended up wearing the maxi since we wanted to go to the beach. so technically i didn't wear this outfit but i can't wait to actually be out and about in this ensemble. 

spring fever.

can you tell that i'm so ready for spring. i've been wearing spring clothes already. and i need a haircut! should i get my bangs back or not? look at sophie eating costco froyo, so cute!

weekend at the meatpacking district.

i love this dress and the colors. i decided to wear it with a blazer because the news said it's going to be 50+ degrees. and it did but i totally forgot that we were going near the water. a bit chilly and so windy. good thing i wore tights. and i only wore it because we took public transpo. my original outfit was this dress, denim jacket and no tights! yikes!

this was taken at the highline park in the meat packing district. i have been wanting to go here since august!! seriously. i love parks esp the ones in the city. there's something magical being in place with lots of greens and at the same time surrounded by buildings. almost like a secret garden where the buildings are like the high walls. this park's different though because there's no trees. plus it's winter so all the plants are brownish. but it's got a great story and history. when people ask me what the highline is, i get all excited. and i tell the whole story and they're like hmmm ok. like they don't get how amazing it is. hubby is so lucky to be working a block away from here and he doesn't really care for it much. you can read more about the amazing highline here.

m.i.a + vintage find.

2 words, spring cleaning. i also tackled the oven. definitely not my favorite. it's my first time to do it and man it's a lot of job. i feel like mike from dirty jobs. where did all that grease come from?? gosh! thank goodness for easy off - that stuff really works. so the house is a mess since sunday so no time to post outfit pix. but i promise to have everything uploaded by tonight.
but i have the most exiting vintage find! i scored myself a new pair of shoes! my father-in-law's old gucci loafers. i am in love with it! ahhhhh, i even took a break from cleaning up just to post this. i'm so excited! perfect timing since 30 for 30 is about to end.

day 18: diy necklace

remember this post where i mentioned that i made a flower necklace inspired by the denim bag i made? well i finally managed not forget taking a pic and here it is!

so easy! all you need is some scrap fabric and chain.
fold the fabric lengthwise and do a basic hem. make sure you leave the threads loose on both sides and pull to gather fabric (like a ruffle). form a flower and sew as you go to set the shape of the flower. i used a paper fastener for the center and to attach to the chain. and that's all there is to it! don't mind my dora scissors - i mean sophie's scissors.

so today i was browsing online for some oxfords because i've been wanting one for a while now and came across this. i love. love. love. i'm into mustard color lately. anyway, since the virus on my pc, i've upgraded to windows7 and so far so good. i've been introduced to the snipping tool which is what i used to get this pic. only problem is i don't remember which website i got this from. help! if anyone knows, please leave a comment. (that is if anyone is reading my blog at all. lol)
